This is an excellent bike for a small space (i.e. city condo/apartment). It is VERY easy to put together; took me about 20 minutes with the tools included in the package (as well as a phillips screwdriver that was not included). I did not have any issues with the packaging of the bike; in fact it took me longer to unwrap all the cardboard/foam/plastic from the bike parts than it took to put the bike together. The programs are fairly basic (one manual, several preset), but they get the job done. I have a gym membership, but as everyone, I have those days when leaving the house is just too much effort, and this is definitely an excellent way to exercise at home. I would recommend buying a different seat for the bike, however, as the one it comes with is not very comfortable.

Unacceptable useful life - J. Swanson -
I bought this particular model about one year ago, and it has already ceased to function properly. Just about one month ago, I was starting my bi-weekly bike ride when I noticed an odd sound as I tried to raise resistance. Every single time I pressed the resistance up ("+") button, the console would beep, flash some garbled data, and reset. I tried various troubleshooting methods, all to no avail. I suppose my last resort will be to take the entire thing apart and look for a flaw.br /br /In any case, I find it to be unacceptable that a product designed for exercise is not engineered to take the everyday wear and tear that comes with -- exercise. I will never buy another Schwinn product, and wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy. It's a shame, because it was a pretty nice bike while it worked.

I have had this exercise bike for over a year and have put over 3000 miles on it. (Yes. I keep track!) I really liked the bike until it broke. It has some nice features for the price. It was easy to assemble. It is lightweight. And it doesn't take up much room in the house. But recently while riding it I heard a loud popping noise. I am assuming it was the tension wire coming apart because now the resistance can no longer be adjusted. The bike is still usable but it is stuck on the highest amount of resistance. br / I don't want to deter anyone from buying this bike because it is a good value. But, if I were to do it over again I wouldn't use the pre-programmed routines that constantly adjust the resistance. That is probably what wore it out.
